“These exhibition areas mark the first step in a complex redevelopment program for the entire exhibition center.” According to the works schedule, the new Hall 37 will be built in 2020 and will be located on the site of the current external area 48 alongside a new logistics area. This will be followed twenty-four months later by the renovation of the Piazza Costituzione and Nord entrances and the opening of the new Hall 38 to the public, and finally renovation of current Hall 35 in 2024. “Smart technology will be one of the key features of the new Bologna Exhibition Centre and will have a positive impact on both visitor experience and the day-to-day management of individual shows.

“Cersaie 2018 is almost completely sold out,” said Emilio Mussini. “We are delighted with this result as it speaks volumes about the quality and value of the show.” The Building, Dwelling, Thinking program, he continued, will feature a series of high-profile conferences, including the ninth keynote lecture given by a Pritzker Prize-winning architect. Portuguese architect Camilo Rebelo will be the first guest in the “building, dwelling, thinking” cultural program of Cersaie 2018, where he will speak at a conference held in the Architecture Gallery on Wednesday, 26 September.

Further highlights include the new location of the Press Cafés the event where editors from interior design magazines discuss themes of topical interest with guests) in the Media Village (Services Centre) and the event entitled “Cersaie designs your home” which offers a free consulting service for home renovation. During the five days of Cersaie 2018, the Italian and international tiling world will converge on Tiling Town, the space devoted to tile installation located in the new Hall 31 A (former Area 49) close to the Piazza Costituzione entrance to the Bologna Exhibition Centre.

On each of the five days of Cersaie, a dedicated area will host a technical seminar for designers on the installation of large panels and slabs. A large space in Tiling Town will be occupied by the Italian national ceramic tile layers’ association Assoposa, who’s Master Tillers, will demonstrate the installation of large size tiles while providing information and advice to visitors. To further underscore the excellence and creativity of the Italian master tillers, Tiling Town has a “surprise” in the store that will be revealed during the coming weeks. Overall, Cersaie 2018 will witness a lot of innovations, knowledge centers, and interactive shows for all the visitors, designers, architects, ceramic and tile industry, and installers.
