Call for entries to The Architecture Drawing Prize 2026
In partnership with Make Architects and Sir John Soane’s Museum, World Architecture Festival (WAF) announces the call for entries for the ninth edition of The Architecture Drawing Prize, sponsored by Iris Ceramica Group. Now a leading international competition, the Prize attracts entries from architects, designers and students across the world. A selection of winning entries are exhibited at Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, with selected works also displayed at the World Architecture Festival.
In the spirit of work by great architects of the past, from Palladio and John Soane to Le Corbusier and Cedric Price, The Architecture Drawing Prize is a platform for reflecting on and exploring how drawing continues to advance the art of architecture today. It embraces the creative use of digital tools and digitally produced renderings, while recognising the enduring importance of hand drawing.
In recognition of the evolving nature of architectural drawing, including the growing influence of AI tools and techniques, the awards will be judged on an overall basis rather than in category silos. There will be multiple winners and a special prize for hand drawing to mark the initial inspiration for the awards. WAF invites entries of all types and forms – from conceptual to technical or construction drawings, cutaways or perspective views – and anything in between. Drawings will be evaluated based on their technical skill, originality of approach and ability to convey an architectural idea. Drawings can be entirely speculative or relate to real life projects.
The judging panel for 2026 is:

• Lily Jencks, Executive Chair, Jencks Foundation at The Cosmic House
• Erin McKellar, Assistant Curator, Exhibitions, Sir John Soane’s Museum
• Narinder Singh Sagoo MBE, Head of Design Communications, Foster + Partners
• Paul Finch, WAF Programme Director and chair of the jury Judges meet in person to review submissions and assess them against criteria including technical skill, originality of approach and the ability to convey an architectural idea, whether the drawing relates to a built, unbuilt or purely conceptual project.
The entry deadline for all submissions is 11 September 2026. Selected winners will go on display at the World Architecture Festival, held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 18 to 20 November 2026.
The overall 2026 winner will be announced at the opening of The Architecture Drawing Prize exhibition at Sir John Soane’s Museum, which will run from 27 January – 28 February 2027 and feature a selection of winning entries.
