ADI at Cersaie 2023 will assign two awards for the quality of ceramic tiles, bathroom furnishings and booth design.

The Italian industrial design association ADI is continuing its collaboration with Cersaie, the most important international exhibition for the world of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, architecture and design which will be held this year in the Bologna Exhibition Centre from 25 to 29 September 2023 with the participation of over 600 exhibitors from 25 countries.

ADI has been partnering with Cersaie for about ten years as part of its core mission to promote the development of industrial design as a cultural and economic phenomenon and to support the responsible and sustainable improvement of living conditions for all. For this purpose, ADI will present two awards in recognition of the quality of products exhibited at Cersaie 2023.

The first is the ADI Ceramics and Bathroom Design Award and will be presented to Italian products in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors. The jury of the 9th edition, consisting of Silvia Stanzani (designer), Oscar G. Colli (co-founder of the magazine Il Bagno oggi e domani), Carlo Branzaglia (design management and education) and Valentina Downey (chair of ADI Emilia-Romagna and strategic designer), will choose the exhibited products that most successfully combine innovation and design quality.

The ADI Booth Design Award, now in its 4th edition, was set up to honour outstanding exhibition booths at the show. A panel of experts made up of Cecilia Bione (Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna),  Pierluigi Molteni (architect and professor of Advanced Design) and Wladimiro Bendandi (ADI Emilia-Romagna) will select the booths at Cersaie 2023 that best promote products and communicate the exhibiting companies’ identity and value.

The products and booths selected by the two panels of judges will be shortlisted for the 2023 edition of the ADI Design Index, the yearbook featuring the best of Italian design in each product category selected by the ADI Permanent Design Monitor for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI design award. Shortlisting ensures that the products pass the first selection phase and are submitted directly to the thematic commissions responsible for the subsequent selection stage.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held during Cersaie at 5:00 pm on Wednesday 27 September 2023 in Hall 37.
